I enjoyed the change of pace of meeting with parents for conferences. It was great to have the opportunity to connect with you and talk about your amazing and wonderful children. Thank you for taking time to come to school and meet with me. As I said during conferences, please contact me with questions or concerns.
Third graders will be going to the Lowry Nature Center on Friday. We will be spending part of the day outside. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather! We are looking forward to a wonderful day learning outside as a third grade community. There are a few other upcoming dates that I wanted to make sure you were aware of.
March 4th - Field Trip to Lowry Nature Center
March 18th - Skating Gathering in PE - Parents are invited to join the third graders at 1:40 to skate. There will be cookies and hot chocolate. This is our last day of skating.
April 20th - Field Trip to Mill City Museum
May 20th - Third Grade Sharing Program - Please join us in the Bovey Chapel from 8:30 - 9:30 for an opportunity to hear third graders sing and see their work.
We
are reading Poppy out loud, focusing on plot and setting. We are beginning to notice how Avi builds
suspense in Poppy by having the
excitement of each event in the plot increase as the story progresses. We are also working on visualizing the
different locations in which the story takes place. Third graders continue to practice their written response to writing by answering questions about the book.
